About Us

Economically self-sustaining Farming

We don’t use any synthetic pesticides or petroleum-based fertilizers. Instead, we use compost and mechanical weed control (humans and tractors). We build soil health year after year by keeping the pigs on the farm and making their manure into biodynamic compost.
We are very proud of the soil we grow in because we feel that the high mineral content of our soil gives our produce exceptional flavor.

Community-supported Agriculture

Established in 1990, Bekilo Farms started off by serving Nkpor and its environs with fresh poultry products, pigs, and sustainably grown vegetables for decades. Our Community-supported agriculture vegetables was at the heart and soul of our operation as it has been since our inception.
We grew over 10 different varieties of vegetables and thanks to our regenerative soil practices, we are able to simultaneously harvest produce throughout the year. Our farm strives to create an environment where all organisms thrive.
As we have grown, we have moved all our agricultural activities to Ngo, Igboukwu where we have added corn and cassava produce along with chickens, eggs and pigs. Our livestock thrive on certified organic feed produced in our farm.

Consistent growth and exceptional agricultural services.

We are committed to producing organically grown, healthy and affordable piggery and poultry products in addition to other exceptional agricultural services.

We are sitting on 70 Acres of land in Aguata Local Government of Ngo. We are one of the few agricultural companies in our Community that produce our own piggery and poultry feeds. We have invested on the importation of foreign pigs from Sweden and we are committed to continually grow the quantity of our birds which will in-turn grow the quantity of eggs we produce daily, due to our consistency and passion for success we have increased our products over the years.

Regenerative soil farming methods.

Our farm is treated as a micro-ecosystem managed through emulating nature’s time-tested patterns and strategies. The biological balance found in our farm allows for a less destructive and healthier farm. In fact, the methods enhance the land, wildlife habitat, and the life of those who work it and the food we grow
We are not certified organic, but we follow sustainable farming practices on our farm. We use some of the latest farming techniques available to make us more efficient. The farm is run by our family so we work as smart and efficiently as possible to offer the highest quality produce at the fairest price.

Regenerative Soil Practices

by naturally preserving the nutrients of the food we produce.
Regenerative Agriculture is a system of farming principles and practices that increases biodiversity, enriches soils, improves watersheds, and enhances ecosystem services. Regenerative Agriculture aims to capture carbon in soil and aboveground biomass, reversing current global trends of atmospheric accumulation.
At the same time, it offers increased yields, resilience to climate instability, and higher health and vitality for farming and ranching communities. The system draws from decades of scientific and applied research by the global communities of organic farming, agro-ecology, Holistic Management, and agro-forestry.
In growing our food, we refuse to compromise the health of the land. We use regenerative soil cycling and cultivation methods that cycle the nutrients by keeping our soils covered with grasses and legumes feeds the microbes, holds in moisture and, as an added bonus, sequesters atmospheric carbon which heals the environment. The foods raised and grown on our farm are nurtured without the use of pesticides or other chemical inputs.

Community Supported Agriculture

We grow high quality produce, and we strive to make it affordable and accessible. We like growing mostly corn, cassava and vegetables. We distribute the food products intact to the community marketplace and then feed the pigs with the rest. Thus, minimizing wastes. For us, community supported agriculture provides the best chance to practice sustainable agriculture, which we like to think of as having a triple bottom line: ecological, economic, and social.
